About

Dr. Ioannis Kontopoulos is a Senior Research Associate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. He received his BSc and PhD from the Department of Informatics and Telematics, Harokopio University of Athens in 2016 and 2022 respectively. Since then, he is working under the supervision of Assistant Professor Kostantinos Tserpes. His doctoral research lies upon the area of Spatiotemporal Analysis and specifically in the "Distributed and Real-time Trajectory Classification and Anomaly Detection on Mobility Data". His research interests revolve around Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Distributed and Real-time Processing, Trajectory Analysis and Mobility Data. He has participated in several EU- and Nationally-funded projects tackling research challenges regarding scalability, event detection, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
